Assistant Project Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Project Engineer to join our team and support the successful delivery of construction projects. Duties

• Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules using project scheduling tools to ensure timely completion of project milestones.
• Support the preparation of technical engineering reports, schematics, and design documentation utilizing CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, and Land Surveying tools.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers during the permitting phase, ensuring compliance with local regulations and facilitating permit acquisition processes.
• Participate in construction inspection activities, verifying that work adheres to design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
• Utilize hydrological modeling tools like SWMM, HEC-RAS, Hydrologic analysis tools, GIS platforms such as ArcGIS and GIS-based stormwater management systems to perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses.
• Support project management efforts by tracking progress, managing documentation through Bluebeam or similar software, and assisting with cost estimates using construction estimating techniques.
• Engage in system design tasks related to stormwater management, water treatment, wastewater treatment, geotechnical engineering considerations, and civil infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Construction experience a must
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; relevant internship or construction experience is highly valued.
• Demonstrated experience managing projects in an engineering role within civil infrastructure sectors such as stormwater systems, pipelines, or water/wastewater treatment facilities.
• Proficiency with CAD software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation; familiarity with drafting and schematics development.
• Strong knowledge of project scheduling techniques and tools; experience with construction management practices is preferred.
• Ability to perform hydrological modeling using SWMM or HEC-RAS; experience with GIS platforms like ArcGIS is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction, team collaboration, and technical report writing.
• Knowledge of permitting processes involved in civil infrastructure projects; understanding of geotechnical engineering principles is advantageous.
• Technical proficiency in hydraulic calculations, stormwater management systems design, land surveying methods, and system design principles.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
