You will join an established central IT team that bridges hands-on software development with project management. Working in a modern, collaborative environment, the team partners with infrastructure, security, and external solution providers to deliver robust, scalable enterprise applications.

about the job.

• Actively design system architectures, write clean code, conduct testing, and support large-scale enterprise platforms.
• Review internal workflows to identify automation opportunities and lead legacy application updates.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to translate operational business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Utilise modern development environments and productivity tools to accelerate feature delivery and ensure code quality.
• Collaborate with network, infrastructure, and security teams to monitor application health and resolve complex technical issues.
• Oversee external vendors and solution providers to ensure project deliverables align with institutional standards.

skills & experience required.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related computing discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive, hands-on experience developing, maintaining, and migrating enterprise applications.
• Strong back-end engineering proficiency in Java, J2EE/Jakarta EE, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
• Practical front-end experience within the modern JavaScript ecosystem (ReactJS, Redux, Node.js, Express.js, Next.js, or NestJS).
• Hands-on experience with relational databases (Oracle, MS SQL, or MySQL), Redis, containerised environments, and Git.
• Exposure to identity integration via Azure Active Directory, including Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
• Familiarity with modern software development toolsets and code optimization techniques.
• Professional command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua).
• Prior experience delivering operational applications within public bodies, higher education, or large-scale organisations, alongside familiarity with Agile delivery, is preferred.
