Bright Minds industry leading client is searching for an Assistant Project Manager who knows how to keep multiple fast-moving projects organized, on schedule, and financially on track in the Columbus, OH area. This role is ideal for someone coming from an electrical contractor, construction company, low-voltage/security integrator, or similar project-based environments. You’ll manage multiple concurrent projects where you’ll be coordinating with field teams, customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders from kickoff through closeout.

The ideal candidate understands the full project lifecycle and the business side of project management, including budgets and costs, scope, schedules, change orders, risk, and forecasting. The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing several projects simultaneously, identifying issues before they impact delivery, and using project data to understand where each job stands financially and operationally. Requirements for the Assistant Project Manager:

• 3-4+ years of project management experience within an electrical contractor, construction company, low-voltage/security integrator, or similar project-based environment
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with competing schedules, priorities, and deadlines
• Understanding of full lifecycle project management, including Budget & Cost Management, Scope Management, Schedule Management, Change Management / Change Orders, Risk Management, and Project Forecasting
• Experience tracking project budgets, costs, commitments, progress, and financial performance
• Proficiency with Procore or similar construction/project management software
• Solid Microsoft Excel skills for project tracking, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Ability to coordinate effectively with field operations, project teams, customers, vendors, and subcontractors
• Experience supporting projects within the utilities or power industry and/or a PMP certification or interest in pursuing one is highly desired
