What they need

Avedon USA Restoration & Construction is seeking an experienced, highly organized Assistant Project Manager to help coordinate daily production for construction and insurance-restoration projects.

The successful candidate must understand how to read and interpret detailed scopes of work, construction estimates, plans, and specifications. This position requires someone who can organize crews, subcontractors, materials, inspections, and project documentation so that each workday is productive, revenue-driven, and completed with minimal downtime.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Review scopes of work, estimates, contracts, blueprints, and construction plans in detail.
  • Convert approved scopes into clear daily and weekly production schedules.
  • Assign revenue-producing work to crews and subcontractors throughout each workday.
  • Confirm labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors are ready before work is scheduled.
  • Minimize downtime by anticipating delays, resolving obstacles, and preparing upcoming work in advance.
  • Track project progress against the approved scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Visit job sites to inspect workmanship, document progress, and confirm scope compliance.
  • Maintain daily reports, photographs, job notes, labor records, material receipts, and subcontractor documentation.
  • Identify additional work, omissions, unforeseen conditions, and potential change orders.
  • Obtain and compare bids from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate material orders, deliveries, equipment rentals, and inspections.
  • Assist with permits and coordinate required drawings with architects, engineers, and other professionals.
  • Communicate professionally with property owners, insurance adjusters, subcontractors, inspectors, and company management.
  • Assist with invoices, supplements, change orders, and payment documentation.
  • Help ensure that completed work is properly documented and billed promptly.
  • Monitor job costs and identify opportunities to improve productivity without sacrificing safety or quality.
  • Ensure projects comply with company policies, contractual requirements, safety standards, and applicable building codes.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience in construction, restoration, estimating, or project coordination.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret detailed scopes of work, estimates, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, labor management, and job-cost control.
  • Experience coordinating multiple trades, vendors, crews, and subcontractors.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage several active projects and shifting priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
  • Comfortable visiting active construction sites and communicating with field personnel.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, email, scheduling applications, and digital project documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with fire, water, storm, or other insurance-restoration projects.
  • Experience communicating with insurance adjusters and reviewing carrier estimates.
  • Familiarity with Xactimate/XactAnalysis or the ability to learn the estimating system.
  • Knowledge of permitting, inspections, construction drawings, change orders, and supplemental claims.
  • Familiarity with job-costing and construction-management software.
  • OSHA, IICRC, or related construction/restoration credentials are beneficial.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a proactive professional who does not wait for problems to develop. The right person plans ahead, keeps crews moving, fills production gaps, follows up consistently, and understands that productive scheduling, accurate documentation, quality workmanship, and timely billing are all essential to a successful project.
