Position Summary

St. George Steel seeks an experienced Assistant Project Manager to help manage steel fabrication projects serving as a point of contact between shop and SGS main office. Working directly with Project management to plan, manage and execute projects from award through completion while serving as liaison among customers, shop operations, fabrication teams, and subcontractors.

Pay: $70,000-$85,000 DOE

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and execute projects from award through completion.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and deadlines.
• Monitor project progress, milestones, risks, and scope changes.
• Serve as primary customer point of contact and resolve project issues.
• Review contracts, drawings, blueprints, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Conduct production, scheduling, and quality meetings.
• Work closely with the Project Management, Shop Supervisor, detailing, fabrication, and subcontractors.

Required Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in steel fabrication
• 3+ years of project management experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Strong budgeting, scheduling, cost-control, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Work Environment

Office-based within a steel fabrication plant with regular shop floor interaction around welding, machining, painting, cranes, and fabrication operations.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
