About the Role
As an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll play an important role in supporting the delivery of the Te Awaparahi Bay expansion project, working alongside experienced project managers and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You’ll help coordinate project workstreams, programmes, budgets, risks and deliverables, while ensuring project activity is well planned, documented and communicated.
You will also support procurement and contract administration across the project lifecycle, working with consultants, contractors and internal teams to keep activities moving and ensure LPC’s processes and project governance requirements are followed. With projects taking place in a live port environment, you’ll work closely with operational teams to minimise disruption to business-as-usual activities and ensure health, safety, quality and environmental requirements are embedded throughout delivery.
What sets you apart
We’re looking for someone who is organised, proactive and enjoys bringing people and project activities together. You will have a relevant trade or professional qualification with up to three years’ relevant experience or be a recent civil engineering graduate with practical skills and the capability to apply your knowledge in a real-world environment.
- Experience supporting projects in a live or high-risk operational environment, with a sound understanding of health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
- Strong communication, critical thinking and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and keep project actions moving.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and strong computer skills, with experience using Microsoft Project or construction programming an advantage.
- Experience in heavy civil construction would be beneficial.
If you're looking to develop your project management career while working on a major infrastructure project with genuine operational complexity, we'd love to hear from you.
This role sits within a broader internal salary band reflecting relativities across the organisation for the same or similar sized roles and performance. New appointments will be made in the range of $81,882 - $91,595 and will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role.
