Assistant Project Manager (Construction Main Con)

About the role

We are looking for a responsible and hands-on Assistant Project Manager to support in planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Project Director in managing day-to-day project and site operations.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, site teams, and internal departments.
• Monitor project progress, work schedules, manpower deployment, materials, and site activities.
• Ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
• Assist in preparing and updating project schedules, progress reports, work programmes, and project documentation.
• Attend site meetings, coordination meetings, and project meetings, and follow up on outstanding matters.
• Coordinate submissions, drawings, materials, inspections, and approvals required for project execution.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure works are completed according to schedule.
• Identify site issues, delays, and coordination problems, and assist the Project Director in resolving them promptly.
• Liaise with the Quantity Surveying team on variations, additional works, procurement, and project cost matters.

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management, or related discipline.

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.

• Experience as main contractor will be an advantage.

• Good understanding of construction processes, site coordination, drawings, and project documentation.

• Able to coordinate effectively with subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and site teams.

• Good communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.

• Responsible, proactive, and willing to take ownership of assigned tasks.

• Able to work independently and as part of a project team.

• Able to work in a fast-paced construction environment.

• Familiar with Microsoft Office and relevant construction or project management software.
