Assistant Project Manager/Estimator

ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER – COMMERCIAL HVAC SOLO A/C | South Florida

SOLO A/C is a well-established South Florida commercial HVAC contractor with more than 50 years of experience serving school districts, government institutions, airports, healthcare facilities, and private-sector clients.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated assistant project manager to join our team and take an active role in managing commercial HVAC projects from award through completion.

What You'll Do

• Manage commercial HVAC projects from start to finish.
• Coordinate with General Contractors, owners, engineers, architects, vendors, subcontractors, and field personnel.
• Review plans, specifications, submittals, RFIs, change orders, schedules, and project requirements.
• Coordinate equipment procurement, material deliveries, manpower, and installation schedules.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, labor, materials, and overall profitability.
• Work closely with the estimating and accounting departments to maintain accurate project financials.
• Attend project meetings and maintain strong communication with clients and project teams.
• Identify potential issues early and work toward practical solutions.
• Follow up on RFIs, submittals, approvals, inspections, testing & balancing, commissioning, and closeout requirements.
• Review progress billing, change orders, and project documentation.
• Maintain accurate project records and ensure projects are completed on time and according to contract requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with General Contractors and customers.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience managing commercial HVAC/mechanical projects.
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC construction.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical plans and specifications.
• Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedules, pay applications, and project closeout.
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with construction/project management software is a plus.
• Ability to work independently while being a strong team player.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
