Assistant Project Manager/Estimator

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing detailed project estimates by analyzing blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine material requirements and costs.
• Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to develop accurate budgets and proposals.
• Review construction drawings thoroughly to interpret technical details and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
• Support project managers in managing project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely delivery.
• Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to negotiate pricing and resolve issues promptly.
• Track material costs, manage cost control measures, and update spreadsheets regularly to monitor project financials.
• Contribute to the review of contracts and ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
• Strong proficiency with estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and Xactimate.
• Excellent skills in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction plans.
• Solid understanding of construction management software tools and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word).
• Demonstrated ability in cost management, material cost estimating, and estimating construction project budgets.
• Effective negotiation skills with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to secure favorable terms.
• Construction site experience combined with knowledge of contracts, project management principles, and safety protocols is highly desirable.

Pay: $41,600.00 - $52,000.00 per year
