Assistant Project Manager/Estimator

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager/Estimator to join our construction team. In this pivotal role, you will support project planning, budgeting, and execution by leveraging your expertise in estimating and project management. Your proactive approach will help ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing accurate construction estimates by analyzing blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications using estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
• Review construction drawings thoroughly to interpret technical details and material requirements for accurate cost estimation.
• Develop detailed project budgets by estimating material costs, labor, equipment, and subcontractor quotes while managing overall project costs effectively.
• Support project managers in managing project schedules, tracking progress, and ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
• Conduct negotiations with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
• Utilize construction management software to monitor project progress, update budgets, and manage documentation efficiently.
• Assist in preparing bid proposals, pricing strategies, and cost control measures to maximize profitability.
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding project scope changes, cost adjustments, and schedule updates.
• Review contracts and ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards on-site during construction phases.

Experience

• Proven experience in managing projects as a construction estimator or assistant project manager within the commercial construction industry.
• Strong proficiency with estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar tools like Xactimate; experience with Bluebeam is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings accurately for material estimation and project planning.
• Solid understanding of construction management software platforms and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Hands-on experience with construction site activities including blueprint review, material estimation from blueprints, cost management, and site safety protocols.
• Excellent negotiation skills combined with effective client communication abilities to foster strong relationships and secure favorable outcomes.
• Knowledge of contracts, project management principles, cost control strategies, and construction estimating best practices.
• Construction industry experience involving estimation for commercial projects is essential; familiarity with Xactimate or similar estimating tools is a plus.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
