Assistant Project Superintendent / Manager

Overview

We are seeking a dependable, motivated Assistant Project Superintendent/Manager to support commercial electrical and civil construction projects in the field.

This is a hands on position requiring regular interaction with crews, subcontractors, and project stakeholders, along with strong computer, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day management of commercial electrical and civil construction projects.
• Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, equipment, and material deliveries.
• Monitor project progress, manpower, productivity, and schedules.
• Read and interpret electrical and civil drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Support work involving commercial electrical installations, underground utilities, conduit systems, duct banks, trenching, site work, and medium-voltage distribution.
• Track labor, materials, equipment, quantities, and project costs.
• Prepare daily reports and maintain accurate field documentation.
• Use Microsoft Excel and other software for project tracking, material lists, labor reports, cost tracking, and scheduling.
• Assist with material takeoffs, purchasing, and delivery coordination.
• Support RFIs, change orders, submittals, inspections, and project closeout.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager, Superintendent, foremen, customers, engineers, and other trades.
• Identify field issues and help develop practical solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial electrical construction strongly preferred.
• Experience with civil construction, underground utilities, or medium-voltage work preferred.
• Solid understanding of construction means and methods.
• Ability to read electrical plans, one-line diagrams, civil drawings, and specifications.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
• Bluebeam experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and support projects through completion.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Willingness to travel to project locations as needed.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly in the field and taking an active role in project execution. This person can coordinate with a foreman, review drawings, resolve field issues, and maintain accurate project records and spreadsheets.
