What they need

Assistant Property Operations Manager

The Lodge Wadjemup – Rottnest Island

The Lodge Wadjemup is seeking a reliable and practical Full Time Assistant Property Operations Manager to join our team for an immediate start. This is a live-on-island role, offering the rare opportunity to work and live in a truly unique destination.

Rottnest Island (Wadjemup) is a stunning A-Class Reserve, located just 30 minutes by ferry from Fremantle, Western Australia, and is renowned for its natural beauty, rich cultural history, and relaxed island lifestyle.

About The Lodge Wadjemup

The Lodge Wadjemup is a 109-room resort and the newest addition to island tourism. Blending contemporary design with the natural landscape of Wadjemup, the resort delivers a high-quality guest experience while respecting the island’s unique environment and cultural significance.

As the Assistant Property Operations Manager, you will assist in the management of company-owned accommodation and facilities while delivering exceptional service to our team members. This is a varied, fast-paced role suited to someone who enjoys administration as much as being out on the ground.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the day-to-day management of employee accommodation and company properties.
  • Conduct room inspections and ensure accommodation is maintained to a high standard.
  • Coordinate maintenance requests and liaise with contractors and internal departments.
  • Support employee check-ins, check-outs and room allocations.
  • Maintain accurate property records, inventories and documentation.
  • Assist with rental administration and accommodation agreements.
  • Monitor cleanliness, safety and compliance across accommodation facilities.
  • Coordinate housekeeping requirements for vacant rooms and common areas.
  • Support property improvement projects and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to employees and guests where required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience managing preventative maintenance programs, asset registers and statutory compliance requirements.
  • A sound understanding of electrical test and tagging requirements and associated compliance records.
  • Experience managing contractors, including reviewing SWMS, permits, licences, insurances and site inductions.
  • A White Card, forklift licence and valid Australian driver’s licence, or the ability to obtain relevant licences where required.
  • Knowledge of pool plant operations, including pH and chlorine management, water testing and corrective actions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise competing maintenance issues based on safety, operational impact and guest experience.
  • Sound judgement in determining when maintenance can be completed internally and when a licensed contractor or specialist trade is required.
  • Strong attention to detail, record keeping and commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • A proactive, practical approach and the ability to remain calm when managing urgent maintenance issues in a busy hospitality environment.

Why Join Us?

  • Live and work in a truly unique island environment.
  • Staff accommodation and meals provided.
  • Supportive and friendly team culture.
  • Opportunity to grow your career within hospitality and property management.
  • Diverse role with no two days the same.
  • Work in one of Western Australia's most picturesque destinations.

If you're looking for an exciting opportunity to combine property management with an incredible island lifestyle, we'd love to hear from you.
