Assistant Purchasing Manager

About the role

As an Assistant Purchasing Manager at Mit Mongkol Industry Co., Ltd., you will play a key role in overseeing the procurement and inventory management functions for this leading manufacturing and logistics company. In this full-time position based in Bangkok and the surrounding metropolitan area, you will work closely with the Purchasing Manager to ensure efficient and cost-effective sourcing of materials and goods to support the company's production and distribution operations.

What you'll be doing

1. Assist the Purchasing Manager in developing and implementing purchasing strategies to meet production and inventory requirements
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast and plan purchasing needs based on production schedules and sales projections
3. Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials
4. Monitor inventory levels and make recommendations to optimise stock levels, minimise costs, and prevent stockouts
5. Prepare and process purchase orders, track deliveries, and resolve any procurement-related issues
6. Maintain accurate records and provide reporting on purchasing activities and inventory management
7. Support the development and continuous improvement of purchasing policies, procedures, and systems

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a purchasing or supply chain role, preferably in the manufacturing or logistics industry
2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements
3. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders
4. Proficient in using procurement and inventory management software and systems
5. Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices in purchasing and supply chain management
6. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
