Assistant/ Purchasing Manager (Sourcing & RFQ)

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute purchasing and sourcing strategies to support business needs.
• Identify, evaluate and manage suppliers, including sourcing, RFQs, negotiations and contract discussions.
• Conduct supplier benchmarking and competitive sourcing to achieve cost and operational improvements.
• Monitor supplier performance in terms of cost, quality, delivery and service levels.
• Manage supplier issues and follow up on corrective and improvement actions.
• Oversee purchase orders, material availability, deliveries and inventory requirements.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely availability of materials and services.
• Maintain proper procurement records, supplier information and documentation.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, procedures and controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Lead and develop the purchasing / procurement team to achieve performance and business objectives.
• Ad hoc duties or projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Logistics or a related discipline.

• At least 4 - 6 years of relevant procurement or purchasing experience, preferably with proven supervisory experience.

• Strong experience in supplier sourcing, RFQ / tender evaluation, price negotiation and contract management.

• Good understanding of purchasing, materials, inventory and delivery processes.

• Candidate with prior experience with SAP or other ERP systems will be advantageous.
