Assistant QA Manager

About the role

This role involves maintaining and continuously improving the laboratory Quality Management System in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements. You will act as the Management Representative for the laboratory and ensure the effective implementation of quality policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the laboratory Quality Plan to ensure compliance with quality management requirements
• Compile, review, and maintain the Quality Assurance (QA) Manual and approve quality-related procedures and documentation
• Manage and coordinate quality surveillance activities, including internal audits, quality reviews, quality improvement initiatives, and corrective action programs, in collaboration with the QHSE Manager
• Recommend, develop, and contribute to quality-related training programs to enhance staff competency and quality awareness
• Coordinate and facilitate all third-party quality assessments, audits, and accreditation activities
• Manage and respond to client quality assurance enquiries, requests, and correspondence
• Advise operational management on quality management systems, quality requirements, and compliance matters
• Represent the company at relevant trade, industry, standards, and professional association meetings on quality-related matters
• Provide guidance and support for new test method development and validation activities

About you

• Degree in Chemistry related field
• 5 years quality assurance / management experience in handling gas/petrochemical products
• Able to coordinate and motivate a team towards a common goal
• Technical knowledge and experience in related field and in using quality management methods and tools
• Able to work independently and to coordinate several activities simultaneously
• Able to interact with all levels of management, suppliers and clients
• Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of ISO systems and procedures
• Proficient in statistical and analytical reporting
• Knowledge of computing skills and able to generate graphs/charts
