Assistant Quality Engineer (CNC)

Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Quality Compliance

• Conduct dimensional and visual inspections of CNC machined parts and machine accuracy checks using appropriate measuring equipment.
• Accurately document inspection results and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where required.
• Follow and update inspection SOPs based on production floor findings.
• Maintain inspection records to support internal and external audit activities.

Measurement & Equipment

• Operate measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM, and surface roughness testers.
• Perform equipment calibration checks and coordinate according to the calibration schedule.
• Identify and escalate equipment abnormalities to senior QC personnel.

Non-Conformance & Corrective Action

• Identify, tag, and segregate non-conforming parts according to NCR procedures.
• Assist with root cause investigations and follow up on Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
• Monitor and track NCR closure status.

Production Floor Support

• Provide in-process inspection support at key production stages.
• Work closely with machining operators and the production team to resolve quality issues at the point of occurrence.
• Escalate recurring defects or systemic quality issues to the QC Engineer.

Training & Continuous Improvement

• Guide operators on basic inspection techniques and quality awareness.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and internal audits.
• Support the implementation of standardised inspection methods across operations.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 1–3 years of QC inspection experience, preferably within CNC machining or precision manufacturing.
• Proficient in reading engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Hands-on experience with conventional measuring instruments.
• CMM experience is an advantage.
• Familiar with ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements.
• Meticulous, proactive, and able to work independently on the production floor.
