ASSISTANT QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Senior/Project Quantity Surveyor in managing commercial and contractual matters for the Pan Borneo Highway Project.
• Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BQ), quantity take-offs, measurements and cost estimates.
• Assist in the preparation and evaluation of tenders, quotations and subcontractor packages.
• Monitor and evaluate subcontractor claims, progress payments and variations.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of variation orders, interim valuations and final accounts.
• Maintain proper records of project costs, contracts, claims and commercial documentation.
• Conduct site measurements and verify work progress against drawings, specifications and site conditions.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and project teams on QS and commercial matters.
• Assist in identifying potential contractual and commercial risks and provide timely updates to the project team.
• Perform other quantity surveying and commercial duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, preferably in infrastructure, highway or civil engineering projects.
• Experience in road/highway or large-scale infrastructure projects will be an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of quantity measurement, cost control, variation and claims management.
• Familiarity with construction contracts and standard forms of contract is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Good communication, negotiation and analytical skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a project team.
• Willing to be based on project/site locations along the Pan Borneo Highway Project.
