Assistant Resident Engineer - Electrical Engineering Consultancy | UAE

As an Assistant Resident Engineer you will supervise and coordinate construction activities across TAQA infrastructure and substation projects in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in site supervision, construction inspections, quality assurance, HSE coordination, and contractor management, with proven experience in TAQA Transmission (TAQA-T) and/or TAQA Distribution (TAQA-D) projects.

Key Accountabilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements, and TAQA standards.
• Monitor contractors' performance, work progress, and adherence to project schedules and quality requirements.
• Conduct site inspections and coordinate inspection requests to verify compliance with approved designs and technical specifications.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, requests for information (RFIs), and other technical submissions.
• Coordinate quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) activities and ensure non-conformities are identified, documented, and resolved.
• Monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements and coordinate with relevant site personnel.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, clients, and relevant authorities to resolve technical issues and facilitate project execution.
• Maintain accurate site records, inspection reports, progress reports, and project documentation.
• Identify construction challenges, escalate critical issues, and support timely resolution to minimize delays and rework.
• Ensure construction activities comply with applicable TAQA-T and/or TAQA-D requirements and authority procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering, relevant to the project discipline.
• Previous TAQA approval as Assistant Resident Engineer is mandatory.
• Proven experience in TAQA-T and/or TAQA-D projects.
• Experience in site supervision, construction inspections, QA/QC, HSE coordination and contractor management.
• Ability to review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs and inspection requests.
• Familiarity with TAQA standards, authority requirements and project documentation.
• Strong communication, reporting and site coordination skills.
• Previous experience with engineering consultancy firms in Abu Dhabi.
