About Us

Amuro is an intimate, 20-seat Japanese diner and sake bar tucked away in Darlinghurst. Inspired by the warmth of a classic Midnight Diner (深夜食堂), we focus on nostalgic Japanese comfort food, exceptional hospitality, and an extensively curated selection of premium boutique saké (nihonshū).

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Assistant Manager to help lead our close-knit team and deliver a relaxed, high-level dining experience.

The Role

Working closely with the Owner/Venue Manager, you will oversee day-to-day floor operations, guide guest service, and uphold our venue's unique culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support the service team on the floor to maintain seamless, attentive guest interactions.

• Guide guests through our menu and deliver insightful, engaging saké pairings.

• Assist with staff training, floor management, and stock control.

• Opening and closing duties, maintaining venue standards and compliance (RSA).

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong Saké Knowledge (Must-Have): Genuine expertise in Japanese saké, styles, and pairing principles to educate both guests and staff.

• Leadership Experience: Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within high-quality dining or boutique bars.

• Guest-First Mindset: Warm, intuitive hospitality that makes guests feel instantly welcome.

• Valid NSW RSA certification.
