Assistant Restaurant Manager

Boston Sail Loft is looking for a dependable and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to support daily restaurant operations and help deliver outstanding customer service. The successful candidate will assist with staff supervision, service coordination, employee training, and maintaining a welcoming dining environment.

This position is ideal for a hospitality professional who can lead a team, solve problems efficiently, and work closely with restaurant management to maintain service quality and operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Restaurant Manager with daily operations and service planning.
• Supervise servers, hosts, food runners, and other front-of-house employees.
• Coordinate shift schedules and help ensure adequate staff coverage.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and respond to guest concerns.
• Train new employees on service standards and restaurant procedures.
• Monitor inventory, supplies, and ordering needs.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with cash handling, sales tracking, and shift reports.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to maintain efficient food service.
• Help improve team performance and overall guest satisfaction.

Requirements

• Previous restaurant or hospitality experience.
• Supervisory or team-lead experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer-service and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with restaurant POS systems and scheduling tools.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.
