Assistant Retail Manager

Role Overview

The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) drives daily operationalexecution, supervises floor activities, and acts as the primary Manager-on-Duty(MOD). Serving as an active brand ambassador on the sales floor, the ASM leadsshift routines, implements visual display standards, and coaches team memberson engagement, styling techniques, andefficient shop running. This role ensures that daily business operations,on-site workflows, display maintenance, and service requests are executed flawlessly to achieve target storeperformance.

Core Responsibilities

Shift Leadership & MOD Execution:
Lead daily huddles to communicate sales targets,direct queue-busting initiatives, and maintain high floor energy as primaryMOD.

Service Coaching & Customer Experience:
Embody brand standards on the floor, assisting Customers,resolving escalated inquiries, and coaching sales associates on recommendingproducts and complete outfits

Staff Development:
Conduct training on selling techniques, product features,fitting room protocols, and loyalty/clienteling offerings

Stock & Freight Logistics:
Supervise stockroom logistics, freight unloads,ticketing, sensor-tagging, and stock replenishment flow to maintain smooth shoprunning.

Display & Visual Maintenance:
Oversee daily floor maintenance, table-folds, wallalignments, and display arrangements to ensure visual guidelines areconsistently met..

Promotions & Floor Rotation:
Manage promotional execution, markdowns, pricechanges, and fitting room rotation speeds.

Daily Routines & Cashiering:
Supervise register workflows, cash handling, registerreconciliation, and adherence to break schedules.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Shift Sales:
Hourly Sales Target Attainment on MOD shifts.

Logistics Efficiency:
Freight Processing Speed (cartons processed perhour).

Service & Speed:
Fitting Room Turnaround Time and Fitting RoomConversion Rate (targeting 50%+).

Loss Prevention:
Inventory Shrinkage % (Target < 0.5% of total stock).

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Sales & Marketing, or a related discipline.

1–3 years of supervisory/leadership experience in retail or service environments.

Demonstrate ability to coach teams in personalized styling, service, and inventory control.

Willingness to work retail hours, weekends and public holidays
