Assistant Security Manager (Full Time)

The Assistant Security Manager supports the Security Manager in the administration and coordination of Heritage Palms Security Services. The position assists in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming community through effective leadership, personnel supervision, access control, patrol operations, incident response, emergency preparedness, policy enforcement, and resident service. The Assistant Security Manager serves as Acting Security Manager when required and supports the Association's commitment to protecting residents, guests, employees, and Association assets.

Coordination Authority

The Assistant Security Manager coordinates daily security operations and serves as the primary liaison between security personnel, Association Management, residents, contractors, vendors, and public safety agencies. The position directs assigned personnel, ensures compliance with established policies and procedures, and supports operational continuity during the absence of the Security Manager.

Responsibilities

The Assistant Security Manager oversees daily security operations, including gate and access-control systems, patrol activities, investigations, emergency response, security technology, contractor coordination, and community event security. The position supervises security personnel, supports training and performance development, enforces Association policies and Rules and Regulations, promotes customer service excellence, and assists with risk management, regulatory compliance, reporting, and administrative functions. The Assistant Security Manager also works closely with Management, law enforcement, fire and emergency services, and other stakeholders to support the overall safety and security of the community.

A High School Diploma or GED is required. Candidates must possess a valid California BSIS Guard Card and a valid California Driver License. A minimum of five (5) years of security, law enforcement, military, public safety, or related experience, including at least two (2) years of supervisory experience, is preferred. Experience within gated communities, homeowner associations, or similar residential environments is highly desirable.

Knowledge and Skills

The position requires managerial experience, communication, problem-solving skills, customer service, and organizational skills. Working knowledge of access-control systems, CCTV operations, Radio Communications, emergency response procedures, HOA policy enforcement, report writing, and personnel supervision is essential.
