Duties

• Assist the Store Manager in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
• Supervise and motivate retail staff to achieve sales goals while maintaining high standards of customer service
• Oversee inventory management, including stock replenishment, merchandising, and inventory control to maximize sales opportunities
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction
• Support hiring processes by participating in interviewing and employee orientation sessions
• Manage POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions, cash handling, and sales reporting
• Coordinate purchasing activities and pricing strategies to optimize store profitability
• Implement training and development programs to enhance team performance and product knowledge
• Monitor operational compliance with company policies and safety regulations
• Assist in budgeting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and other administrative tasks as needed

Skills

• Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles with supervisory responsibilities
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and foster a collaborative environment
• Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse customer bases
• Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, inventory management, and sales management techniques
• Proficient in POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math including pricing strategies and budgeting
• Demonstrated ability to train staff on operational procedures, customer service standards, and product knowledge
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with employee orientation, interviewing new hires, and supervising retail sales teams
• Knowledge of retail industry standards such as merchandising, stocking, inventory control, and store operations management
• Strong time management skills to handle shift management duties effectively
• Ability to communicate clearly with team members and customers using professional phone etiquette and managerial communication techniques
