About Our Flagship Store

Located in the heart of Auckland's CBD, our ASICS Commercial Bay Flagship Store offers a premium retail experience, showcasing the very best of ASICS, from state-of-the-art gait analysis to high-performance footwear and apparel for all types of athletes.

We’re looking for an energetic and capable Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in leading the team, delivering top-tier customer service, and ensuring operational excellence across the store.

About the Role

As the Assistant Store Manager, you’ll be hands-on in driving the day-to-day running of our Commercial Bay Flagship Store. You’ll step up to lead the team in the Store Manager’s absence, provide ongoing coaching and development, and help deliver the premium ASICS experience to every customer.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in leading, motivating, and developing the retail team
• Ensure every customer receives exceptional service aligned with ASICS’ premium technical service standards
• Drive store sales and assist in achieving/exceeding key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Oversee and participate in daily store operations, including rostering, inventory, reporting, and visual merchandising
• Maintain compliance with health & safety, company policy, and operational procedures
• Contribute to local marketing and brand initiatives in partnership with the Store Manager
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture

What You’ll Bring

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a retail leadership role (e.g. Supervisor, 2IC, or Assistant Manager)
• Proven ability to drive sales results through supporting and developing others
• Strong understanding of store operations including stock management and visual merchandising
• Passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences
• Excellent time management and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• A genuine love for health, fitness, or sport is highly valued
• Full working rights in New Zealand
