ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER

We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join Select Goods in Baguio City, Benguet. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our retail store. As Assistant Store Manager, you will be instrumental in maintaining our high standards of customer service, staff management, and operational efficiency. This position is essential to driving store performance and creating an exceptional shopping experience for our customers.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting the Store Manager with the overall management and supervision of store operations
• Overseeing daily store activities including opening and closing procedures
• Managing staff scheduling, training, and performance monitoring
• Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations
• Handling customer complaints and resolving issues to maintain customer satisfaction
• Monitoring and optimising inventory levels, stock rotation, and merchandise displays
• Maintaining visual merchandising standards throughout the store
• Supporting sales targets and implementing promotional activities
• Processing transactions and managing point-of-sale systems
• Conducting regular stock audits and maintaining accurate records
• Recruiting, onboarding, and developing team members
• Creating a positive work environment that motivates and engages staff

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in retail management or a similar supervisory role
• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate staff
• Excellent customer service skills and a customer-focused mindset
• Knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, and point-of-sale systems
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays as required
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Numeracy skills and proficiency with retail management software
• Problem-solving abilities and sound decision-making skills
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform store duties
• A secondary or higher level of education, with formal retail training an advantage
