Assistant Store Manager

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in supervising daily store activities, including sales, inventory management, and customer service.
• Lead and motivate the retail sales team to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer experiences.
• Manage employee orientation, training & development, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performing team.
• Oversee inventory control, stock replenishment, merchandising, and purchasing to ensure product availability and presentation standards are met.
• Handle cashiering duties, POS (Point of Sale) systems operation, and cash handling with accuracy.
• Support shift management by organizing schedules, delegating tasks, and ensuring operational efficiency during all store hours.
• Implement effective management practices such as budgeting, pricing strategies, and sales management to maximize profitability.
• Organize and promote in-store events, including D&D games, MTG tournaments, and more.

Requirements

• Proven experience in retail store management or assistant manager roles within the retail industry.
• Strong leadership skills with previous supervising or team management experience.
• Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases.
• Proficiency with POS systems, inventory management software, and basic bookkeeping tools.
• Demonstrated ability in negotiation, recruiting, interviewing, and employee orientation processes.
• Knowledge of retail math including sales calculations, pricing strategies, and inventory control procedures.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in gaming, comics, fandom, or similar retail sectors is essential.
