Assistant Store Manager

Duties

• Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
• Lead, motivate, and supervise retail staff to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service
• Manage inventory levels through stock control, and merchandising.
• Conduct employee orientation, training & development sessions to enhance team skills and product knowledge
• Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints efficiently, and ensure a positive shopping experience
• Oversee cashiering activities including cash handling, POS system operation, and pricing accuracy
• Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and selecting qualified candidates for store roles

Experience

• Proven supervisory or assistant manager experience within the retail industry with a focus on sales team management
• Strong knowledge of retail operations including inventory control, merchandising, POS systems, and cash handling
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead teams effectively and manage managerial communication
• Demonstrated skills in negotiation, purchasing, budgeting, and operational management
• Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer bases effectively
• Experience with retail math including basic math calculations related to pricing, sales analysis, and inventory management
• Familiarity with grocery store or wireless sales environments is advantageous but not required

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30.0 per week
