Duties

• Assist in supervising daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, to ensure smooth functioning.
• Lead and motivate the retail sales team to achieve sales targets through effective coaching, training, and performance management.
• Oversee inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to maximize product availability and presentation.
• Manage cashiering activities, including POS (Point of Sale) systems, cash handling, and pricing accuracy.
• Coordinate employee orientation, onboarding, and ongoing training to develop a knowledgeable and customer-focused team.
• Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing candidates and selecting qualified staff members.
• Handle customer inquiries with professionalism via phone etiquette and in-person interactions, ensuring high levels of customer service.
• Assist with payroll processing, bookkeeping tasks, and basic math calculations related to sales and budgets.
• Implement operational policies related to purchasing, inventory management, and operational management to optimize store efficiency.
• Contribute to budgeting efforts by monitoring expenses and sales performance to meet financial goals.
• Support management in supervising shifts, organizing schedules, and managing team communication for seamless store operations.

Experience

• Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles within the retail industry is essential.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience with a strong background in team management and leadership development.
• Familiarity with POS systems, inventory control practices, merchandising techniques, and retail math is required.
• Experience in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding new employees, and conducting employee orientation sessions is highly valued.
• Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse customer bases effectively.
• Knowledge of grocery or wireless sales environments enhances suitability for this role.
• Strong organizational skills combined with excellent communication skills are vital for success in managing daily store operations.
• Basic math proficiency for handling cash transactions, payroll calculations, and budgeting tasks is necessary.
