Assistant Store Manager – Bakery

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and positive Assistant Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of our bakery. This is a hands-on position that includes customer service, food preparation, team training, and assisting the owner with daily business operations. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is eager to learn every aspect of the bakery.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming experience for every customer.
• Operate the POS system, process transactions, and handle cash accurately.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the bakery to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Assist the owner with daily operations, reporting, inventory, and other administrative tasks.
• Prepare batters, bake products, and assemble desserts according to company recipes and standards.
• Maintain cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation standards throughout the bakery.
• Monitor product quality and restock displays as needed.
• Open and/or close the store when scheduled.
• Train and mentor new employees when needed.
• Help maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment.

Training Program

Successful candidates will receive training in the following order:

• Cashier and customer service
• Kitchen preparation and food handling
• Batter preparation and baking
• Training and supervising new team members

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a bakery, café, restaurant, or other food service establishment is preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Comfortable using a POS system and handling cash.
• Able to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.
• Willing to learn baking techniques and follow recipes precisely.
• Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
