Assistant Store Manager

Duties

• Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
• Lead, motivate, and supervise retail staff to achieve sales goals and deliver excellent customer service
• Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to maximize product visibility and sales
• Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints efficiently, and ensure a positive shopping experience
• Support recruiting efforts through interviewing, employee orientation, training & development initiatives
• Oversee POS (Point of Sale) systems, cash handling, cashiering duties, and payroll processing
• Coordinate purchasing activities, pricing strategies, and inventory management to optimize store profitability

Requirements

• Proven experience in retail store management or assistant manager roles within the retail industry
• Strong leadership skills with supervisory experience managing sales teams effectively
• Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus
• Proficiency with POS systems, inventory management software, and basic bookkeeping practices
• Demonstrated ability in negotiation, customer service excellence, and operational management
• Knowledge of retail math including sales tracking, pricing adjustments, and budgeting
• Ability to handle cash handling procedures accurately and perform basic math calculations confidently
• Organizational skills with a focus on time management and multitasking in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in grocery or wireless sales is advantageous but not required; a background in retail sales is essential
