Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS system management.
• Lead and motivate the retail sales team to achieve sales targets through effective coaching, training, and performance management.
• Manage inventory control processes such as stocking, merchandising, purchasing, and inventory management to ensure product availability and optimal stock levels.
• Supervise staff scheduling, shift management, and ensure adherence to operational policies while fostering a positive team environment.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring a welcoming shopping experience.
• Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing candidates and onboarding new employees with employee orientation programs.
• Oversee bookkeeping, payroll processing, budgeting, and basic math calculations related to store operations.
• Implement merchandising strategies and pricing adjustments to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining brand standards.
• Maintain effective communication with team members through managerial communication skills to ensure clarity of expectations and goals.

Requirements

• Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles within the retail industry, with supervising or team management experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of POS systems, inventory management software, and operational procedures including cash handling and cashiering.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities with effective communication skills and the ability to train & develop staff members.
• Proficiency in negotiation, customer service excellence, and employee orientation techniques.
• Multilingual or bilingual abilities are considered a plus for serving diverse customer bases effectively.
• Familiarity with grocery store operations or retail sales environments is advantageous.
• Basic math skills for retail math calculations related to pricing, sales tracking, and inventory control.
• Ability to manage time effectively while prioritizing tasks such as stock replenishment, merchandising, and shift supervision.
