NZ Uniforms is New Zealand's leading provider of school, sports, corporate and healthcare uniforms. We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Assistant Store Manager to support the day-to-day operations of our Timaru store.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys retail leadership, delivering exceptional customer service, and helping a team achieve great results.

About the Role

Reporting to the Store Manager, you will assist with the smooth operation of the store while leading by example and providing outstanding service to our customers.

This position is 32 hours per week, with flexibility required during peak trading periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager with daily store operations
• Lead and motivate the team to deliver exceptional customer experiences
• Assist with staff training and development
• Drive sales and contribute to achieving store targets
• Ensure stock is accurately received, replenished and merchandised
• Maintain high presentation standards throughout the store
• Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally
• Support health and safety and company compliance requirements

What We're Looking For

• Previous retail leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to coach and motivate team members
• Good organisational and time management skills
• A positive, proactive and hands-on approach
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
• Experience with stock management and point-of-sale systems is desirable
