Assistant Store Manager

Duties

• Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
• Lead and motivate the sales team to meet and exceed sales targets through effective coaching and performance management
• Manage inventory levels through accurate stock control, ordering, purchasing, and merchandising strategies
• Ensure excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining a welcoming store atmosphere
• Supervise cashiering activities, including cash handling, POS (Point of Sale) system operations, and balancing registers at shift end
• Implement employee orientation, training & development programs to enhance team skills and product knowledge
• Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing prospective employees and onboarding new team members

Experience

• Proven supervisory or assistant management experience within the retail industry, preferably with retail sales team management experience
• Strong knowledge of retail operations including inventory management, merchandising, pricing strategies, and POS systems
• Demonstrated skills in negotiation, customer service excellence, and managerial communication
• Experience with payroll processing, bookkeeping, budgeting, and operational management is highly desirable
• Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases effectively
• Familiarity with grocery store or retail environment operations is advantageous
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively

Pay: $24.37 - $29.34 per hour
