Assistant Store Manager

Duties

• Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including opening, closing, and shift management.
• Lead, motivate, and supervise retail sales teams to meet or exceed sales targets through effective coaching and training.
• Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, conducting regular audits, and coordinating purchasing and merchandising efforts.
• Handle customer service issues with professionalism, ensuring customer satisfaction and resolving complaints promptly.
• Oversee cash handling procedures, POS (Point of Sale) systems operation, payroll processing, and bookkeeping tasks to maintain accuracy.
• Conduct employee orientation sessions, participate in interviewing prospective team members, and assist in recruiting efforts.
• Implement operational policies related to pricing, sales management, inventory management, and store safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles within the retail industry.
• Strong leadership skills with demonstrated team management and supervisory experience.
• Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases.
• Proficiency with POS systems, inventory management software, and basic math for retail math calculations.
• Knowledge of retail sales techniques, merchandising strategies, and operational procedures such as purchasing and stock control.
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and manage payroll processes effectively.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in grocery or wireless sales is advantageous; familiarity with phone etiquette and customer service excellence is essential.
