Assistant Store Manager

Overview

Pet Supplies Plus is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Store Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who have a passion for animals and enjoy working in a dynamic retail environment focused on pet care. The Assistant Store Manager will support the store’s daily operations, ensure excellent customer service, and foster a positive shopping experience for pet owners and their beloved animals. A love for animals and a proactive attitude are essential to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
• Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with customers, answering questions about pet products, and offering advice on pet care.
• Support inventory management, including stock replenishment, product displays, and maintaining organized shelves.
• Lead by example in delivering outstanding service and maintaining a welcoming store atmosphere.
• Help train and motivate team members to achieve sales goals and uphold company standards.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and store procedures to create a safe environment for staff, customers, and animals.
• Participate in opening and closing duties as needed, including cash handling and store cleanliness.
• Foster a love for animals within the team by promoting responsible pet ownership and care.

Experience

• Prior retail or customer service experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for animals is a must.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with customers and team members effectively.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Leadership qualities such as motivation, initiative, and problem-solving skills are highly valued.
• A genuine passion for animals and knowledge of pet care products will be considered an asset.

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
