The Role

We’re looking for an Assistant Store Manager who loves leading a team, connecting with customers, and keeping a busy store running smoothly. Working closely with the Store Manager, you’ll support daily operations, help drive sales, and ensure every customer receives welcoming, attentive service.

This is a hands-on role with a strong presence on the sales floor. You’ll coach associates, solve problems in the moment, and work closely with our embroidery team to keep personalized orders accurate, organized, and on track.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the sales floor: Set daily priorities, coordinate breaks and floor coverage, and serve as manager on duty when needed.
• Coach and develop the team: Support onboarding and training, provide regular feedback, and model strong service, product knowledge, and accountability.
• Support sales performance: Help the team meet store goals through thoughtful recommendations, confident selling, and lasting customer relationships.
• Create a personalized customer experience: Guide customers through products and embroidery options, communicate turnaround expectations, and handle questions or concerns with care.
• Coordinate custom orders: Ensure personalization details are captured accurately and partner with the embroidery team to keep orders moving and customers informed.
• Manage daily operations: Support opening and closing, point-of-sale transactions, cash handling, and consistent execution of store procedures.
• Maintain store standards: Keep displays, merchandise, and backstock organized while supporting replenishment, inventory counts, and stock accuracy.
• Improve how we work: Share customer feedback, identify recurring issues, and partner with the Store Manager to strengthen workflows and team performance.

What You Bring

• At least 3 years of retail experience, including 1 year as a keyholder, supervisor, assistant manager, or in a similar leadership role.
• Experience delivering excellent customer service and supporting sales goals.
• Confidence coaching associates, delegating responsibilities, and resolving customer concerns.
• Strong organization and attention to detail, particularly when handling custom orders and competing priorities.
• A calm, practical approach to busy periods and unexpected challenges.
• Comfort using retail point-of-sale systems and everyday digital tools; Shopify POS experience is a plus.
• An interest in design, gifting, and personalization. Embroidery experience is welcome but not required.

Position Details

• Location: New York, NY — in person
• Employment type: Full-time
• Annual base salary: $65,000–$80,000, based on relevant experience and qualifications
• Schedule: Includes weekends and holidays
• Reports to: Store Manager
• Please note: the candidate chosen to occupy this role will be expected to work the upcoming holiday schedule, including Nov. 25 & 27, and Dec. 24 & 26
