Duties

• Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory control
• Supervise and motivate retail staff to achieve sales goals while maintaining high standards of customer service
• Conduct employee orientation, training, and ongoing development to foster a knowledgeable and engaged team
• Oversee merchandising, stock replenishment, pricing strategies, and inventory management to optimize product presentation and availability
• Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing candidates and onboarding new team members
• Manage POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions, returns, and refunds while ensuring accuracy in cashiering and payroll processing
• Implement operational policies related to safety, cleanliness, and store standards; monitor compliance with company procedures
• Handle customer inquiries with professionalism using excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
• Assist with budgeting, sales management, and operational planning to meet or exceed store targets
• Lead shift management duties by coordinating staff schedules, supervising daily activities, and ensuring efficient workflow

Qualifications

• Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles within the retail industry with supervising experience
• Strong knowledge of retail math including basic math skills for cash handling, pricing, and inventory calculations
• Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
• Demonstrated ability in negotiation, recruiting, training & development, and employee orientation
• Familiarity with POS systems, inventory management software, merchandising tools, and wireless sales is preferred
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in grocery or convenience store settings is advantageous but not required
• Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams, manage time efficiently, and communicate managerial expectations clearly
