Assistant Store Manager

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including sales management, inventory control, and merchandising.
• Lead and motivate retail sales teams to meet and exceed sales goals through effective training and coaching.
• Manage employee orientation, onboarding, and ongoing training to ensure team members are knowledgeable about products and customer service standards.
• Handle recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing candidates and supporting hiring decisions for store staff.
• Supervise shift activities, including cash handling, cashiering, POS system operation, and customer service excellence.
• Maintain accurate bookkeeping, payroll processing, and inventory management records to ensure operational efficiency.
• Implement pricing strategies and purchasing decisions to maximize profitability while controlling costs.

Requirements

• Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles within the retail industry.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and develop a diverse team effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, including managerial communication, phone etiquette, and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency with POS systems, inventory management software, and basic math skills for retail math calculations.
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus to serve a diverse customer base effectively.
• Experience with grocery store operations or similar retail environments is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage operational tasks such as budgeting, purchasing, stocking, merchandising, and inventory control.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
