Assistant Store Manager – NuYo Frozen Yogurt

Job Summary:

NuYo Frozen Yogurt is looking for a dependable, enthusiastic Assistant Store Manager to help lead daily store operations and support our team. This role works closely with the Store Manager to maintain excellent customer service, keep the store clean and organized, manage inventory, and ensure employees are following established procedures.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on team leader who takes initiative, communicates well, and enjoys creating a positive experience for both customers and employees. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow their leadership skills while helping a local business succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily store operations, including opening, closing, cash handling, and register procedures.
• Support the Store Manager in supervising, training, and coaching team members.
• Help coordinate employee schedules and ensure shifts are properly staffed.
• Lead by example by providing friendly, efficient customer service.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming store and ensure all equipment and service areas meet cleanliness standards.
• Monitor frozen yogurt, toppings, and supply levels; assist with ordering, restocking, and inventory tracking.
• Ensure products are fresh, properly presented, and consistently meet company standards.
• Process customer transactions accurately and follow cash-handling procedures.
• Help monitor sales, labor, inventory, and product waste to support store profitability.
• Address customer questions or concerns professionally and involve the Store Manager when needed.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new employees as needed.
• Support promotions, special events, and community fundraisers.
• Follow food safety guidelines, sanitation procedures, and company policies.
• Communicate shift updates, operational concerns, and supply needs to the Store Manager.
• Help maintain accountability, teamwork, and a positive working environment.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a supervisory, team-lead, retail, restaurant, or food service role is preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to motivate teammates and provide clear direction.
• Reliable, organized, and willing to take responsibility for assigned tasks.
• Comfortable handling cash, using a POS system (Toast POS is a bonus), and performing basic math.
• Ability to multitask and remain productive during busy periods.
• Attention to detail when maintaining cleanliness, preparing products, and managing inventory.
• Willingness to learn and enforce food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, mornings and evenings.
• Ability to work independently while supporting the Store Manager and following company standards.

Frozen yogurt or dessert shop experience is a plus, but a positive attitude, dependability, and strong work ethic are equally important.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 35.0 per week
