Assistant Store Manager | STORM

STORM brings together contemporary fashion, distinctive design and a rock ’n’ roll spirit. We’re looking for an Assistant Store Manager to join our Victoria Street store in Wellington, supporting the Store Manager and creating a shopping experience that keeps customers coming back.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys styling, building customer relationships and bringing out the best in a team.

The role

Working alongside the Store Manager, you will:

• Deliver personal styling advice and attentive customer service.
• Help drive store sales and achieve sales targets and key performance measures.
• Support, coach and motivate the team to build product knowledge, styling confidence and sales skills.
• Lead the team and oversee daily store operations when the Store Manager is absent.
• Assist with staff rosters and daily task allocation.
• Maintain store presentation and carry out visual merchandising direction.
• Manage point-of-sale transactions, cash handling and daily reconciliation accurately.
• Support stock receiving, replenishment, transfers, stocktakes and inventory accuracy.
• Resolve customer enquiries and concerns professionally.
• Follow and uphold company policies, security procedures and health and safety requirements.

What you’ll bring

• At least two years’ experience in retail, hospitality or another customer-facing service environment.
• Previous experience leading or supervising a team, including coaching staff and coordinating daily work.
• Experience working towards sales or service targets.
• A strong interest in fashion and confidence helping customers make styling choices.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Good organisation, attention to detail and confidence using computer systems.
• Availability to work a roster that includes weekends and public holidays.

Fashion retail experience is preferred. No formal qualification is required.
