ABOUT THE ROLE

Body Machine Fitness is looking for a strong, hands-on Assistant Studio Manager to help lead the day-to-day operations and member experience at our Plano studio.

This is a hands-on leadership role with real ownership. You'll work scheduled shifts alongside the team while directly supervising our Front of house team, managing Front of House scheduling, maintaining studio standards, resolving member issues, managing inventory, and helping ensure BMF runs at a high level every day.

This is not a sit-behind-a-desk management position.

We're looking for someone who sees what needs to be done and takes action, can hold people accountable while still building strong relationships, and is confident making day-to-day decisions.

This position reports to the COO and works closely with our Sales Director, and leadership team.

For the right person, this role also provides a path toward becoming a salaried Studio Manager and beyond.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Lead the Team

• Directly supervise and support our Front of House team.
• Set expectations for service, professionalism, cleanliness, and execution.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and accountability.
• Help onboard and train new team members.

Be Part of the Leadership Team

• Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to planning, problem-solving, and improvement.
• Help communicate priorities, standards, and expectations across the team.
• Bring ideas forward, surface issues early, and help drive solutions.
• Have a voice in how the BMF brand evolves and grows and help shape what comes next.

Own Front-of-House Operations

• Create and maintain the Front of House schedule.
• Ensure appropriate staffing and help coordinate coverage needs.
• Support opening, closing, and daily studio operations.
• Identify problems and take ownership of getting them resolved.

Deliver an Exceptional Member Experience

• Build genuine relationships with members and guests.
• Help create an exceptional first experience for new guests.
• Resolve routine member concerns and escalate when appropriate.
• Follow through on member requests until they are resolved.

Maintain BMF Standards

• Conduct regular studio and deep-clean inspections.
• Hold the team accountable for cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Keep the studio organized, stocked, and member-ready.
• Identify maintenance, facility, or equipment issues and help ensure they are addressed.

Manage Communication & Inventory

• Ensure studio email and main-line communication channels are monitored and responded to.
• Follow through on outstanding member questions and requests.
• Monitor inventory and supply levels.
• Place approved orders and maintain organized inventory areas.

Support Studio Growth

This is not primarily a sales role and does not carry an individual membership sales quota at this level, but everyone at BMF supports studio growth.

• Partner with and support our Sales Manager.
• Help create strong first-time guest experiences.
• Assist with studio tours and membership conversations.
• Support promotions, events, partnerships, and community initiatives.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for a proven leader with strong people-management experience, sound judgment, and a genuine commitment to creating an exceptional member experience.

Required

• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience directly supervising employees and holding team members accountable.
• Experience in boutique fitness, hospitality, wellness, luxury retail, restaurants, hotels, or another high-touch customer experience environment.
• Experience handling customer or member escalations and resolving service issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven reliability, ownership, and follow-through.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to make decisions and solve problems in a fast-moving environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on studio needs.

Preferred

• 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience managing employee schedules and staffing coverage.
• Experience coaching or developing employees.
• Experience managing inventory, ordering, or facility operations.

The strongest candidates are natural leaders who are warm, confident, proactive, dependable, and comfortable balancing people leadership with hands-on studio work.

SCHEDULE

This is a full-time, hourly leadership position.

Boutique fitness operates outside of traditional office hours, so scheduling flexibility is required. Shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.

The Assistant Studio Manager will have an assigned schedule and is also expected to help support unexpected staffing needs when reasonably necessary.

COMPENSATION

$22–$25 per hour, based on experience.

Compensation within the range will be determined based on leadership experience, people-management experience, operational experience, and overall fit for the role.

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week
