Shepparton Golf Club, one of regional Victoria’s leading golf destinations, is seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our Course Maintenance team on a full-time basis.

About the Roles

Working as part of a dedicated team, you will play an important role in maintaining and presenting the course to the highest standard. These positions offer the opportunity to work in a professional environment focused on course excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.

Assistant Superintendent

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, maintenance and presentation of the course and its facilities
• Understanding of turf management and agronomy practices

·        Support turf health programs, including pest, disease and weed management.

• Provide leadership, supervision and mentoring to members of the course maintenance team
• Carry out turf maintenance activities including mowing, fertilising, chemical application, irrigation and course set-up.
• Operate and maintain a range of specialised turf equipment and machinery.
• Contribute ideas and initiatives to course development projects
• Ensure a safe, clean and professional work environment.

About You

The successful applicants will ideally possess:

• As a minimum Certificate III in Sports Turf Management (or equivalent)
• Experience in golf course or turf maintenance operations.
• Strong knowledge of turf management practices and equipment operation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A proactive attitude with strong attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively.
• Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Chemical Users Certification.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment maintenance knowledge.
• Experience with irrigation systems, scheduling and troubleshooting
• Ability to work flexible hours and rostered weekends

Apprentice Greenkeeper

Key Responsibilities

·       Assist with the maintenance and presentation of the course and its facilities

·       Work in a team environment

·       Operate and maintain equipment

·       Perform mowing, turf surface renovations, bunker maintenance and other agronomic tasks as directed

·       Attend TAFE as part of the training and development

·       A passion for turf management and the golf industry

·       Strong work ethic

·       A strong attention to detail

·       Ability to work as part of a team

·       Work flexible hours and rostered weekends
