Assistant Superintendent

Job Summary
We are seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join our Tenant Improvement/Reconstruction General Contracting team in Denver, Colorado. This person will enjoy the challenge of assisting Superintendents on multiple projects ranging between $25K-$5M with durations spanning one week to four months. Projects are most often commercial interior construction and include office, retail, industrial, and hospitality. This opportunity offers valuable real-world experience in a fast pasted, rapid growth environment. Assistant Superintendents are responsible for delivering outstanding professional services within their skill set and learning as much as possible to advance to becoming a Superintendent and running their own projects . More specific details are described below.

Responsibilities

• Assist Superintendents in the daily needs of commercial construction projects.
• Direct interaction and scheduling of subcontractors
• Partial oversight of the project schedule - including material deliveries and inspections
• Work closely with Superintendents on RFI’s, change orders, punchlists, etc.
• Make employee safety a priority both in-house and on-site, in accordance with corporate policy
• Effective support of projects; meeting schedule milestones and deadlines while ensuring client satisfaction.
• Ensuring projects are executed with technical proficiency, accuracy, and professionalism.
• Represent Avalon Construction to clients in a professional manner
• Ability to read blueprints and understand the order of tasks to achieve completion

Experience

• Knowledge of commercial construction from education or experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred
• Must be able to handle multiple priorities under stressful conditions
• Proficient in computer operations and standard software packages (examples -Outlook, Excel). Experience with construction management software packages, even better (examples: Procore, Microsoft Project)
• Effective communicator - verbal and written
• OSHA 10 a plus (can achieve post-employment)

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
