Summary: Responsible for assisting the Supervisor on all necessary tasks and management of their shift, leading team to excel in relation to operating the yogurt processing, filling, and packaging machines. The Assistant Supervisor-Packaging is specifically responsible for overseeing all packaging lines to ensure minimal downtime, properly allocated staffing and maintenance coordination. At times, they will be required to also assist in processing, filling, and CIP and any other tasks deemed necessary by Supervisor. Qualified applicants must possess tangible experience in food processing, team leadership, strong problem solving skills. Assistant Supervisor must also comply with all local, state, federal and company regulations including, but not limited to: OSHA, FDA, EPA and SQF.

Pay Range:

· Hourly Position $23.00-$26.00 per hour

· Hourly Pay contingent on shift and experience

Areas of Responsibility:

· Assist Supervisor in leading Packaging, and all other necessary tasks

· Areas of responsibility (not limited to only listed):

o Accurate recording of required production metrics ie. final production counts, OEE, processing logs, quality logs, etc.

o Accuracy and responsibility in all cup, case, and pallet tag markings

o Maintain strong overview of production goals and requirements

o Operate yogurt processing, filling, packaging machinery, and assist in all other production related activities

o Collaborate very closely with Plant Management, Maintenance, Sanitation, Quality, Human Resources, and Warehousing

o Manage shift attendance on Packaging lines to ensure coverage on a daily basis

· Responsible for troubleshooting: The ability to rapidly assess, analyze and resolve complicated problems with little initial information or direction and with varying degrees of ambiguity. Intermediate troubleshooting methodology is demonstrated

· At times, work a flexible schedule as needed

· Actively leads teams and adds value with their leadership

· Check work for mistakes

· Work safely and follow all applicable safety procedures. Prevents employees from doing unsafe tasks

· Follow all applicable FS&Q policies. Identifies FS&Q issues in the plant and regularly reports these issues. Prevents employees from doing improper FS&Q tasks

· Innovative and possess ability to multi -task and shift priorities quickly while maintaining control, focus and professionalism in a fast paced and dynamic environment

· Energy, resilience, determination, and strong analytical skills needed to challenge the status quo

Job Requirements:

· High school Diploma, GED

· 2-5 years of experience in a food production / manufacturing environment operating, repairing and/or troubleshooting issues on filling, packaging and other processing equipment. Previous dairy, food and beverage industry experience preferred. Previous Sani

· Experience in a supervisory role

· Experience with Osgood, Modern, Douglas, SWF, Videojet and Westrock machines preferred

· Must be able to work on your feet for up to 12 Hours

· Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 60 pounds

· Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance

· Must be able to climb ladders, work at heights, work overhead, work in confined spaces and work in very hot and very cool environments

· While performing the duties of this job, the Supervisor is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day
