Job Overview

Hillcrest Children’s Academy is seeking a loving, energetic, and hands-on Assistant Two's Teacher to join our faith-based preschool!

We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with two-year-olds, understands the importance of early childhood development, and enjoys being actively involved in the classroom.

As an Assistant Teacher, you will work directly alongside our Lead Two's Teacher to support the implementation of our engaging, age-appropriate, faith-based curriculum. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities, routines, supervision, and ensuring that each child receives the attention, guidance, and care they need.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher: Work closely with and report directly to the Lead Two's Teacher, assisting with daily lessons, classroom activities, and routines.
• Hands-On Classroom Assistance: Actively engage with children throughout the day, ensuring they are participating in activities, following directions, and receiving appropriate guidance.
• Potty Training & Personal Care: Assist with potty training, diaper changes, bathroom routines, handwashing, and helping children develop independence.
• Classroom Management: Help maintain a structured, positive, and organized classroom while using patience, consistency, and age-appropriate behavior guidance.
• Faith-Based Learning: Support our Christian curriculum by participating in Bible lessons, prayer, worship, and activities that teach children about Jesus and Christian values.
• Health & Safety: Maintain proper supervision, follow Texas Child Care Minimum Standards, and ensure a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment.
• Daily Classroom Support: Assist with meals, nap times, outdoor play, transitions, classroom cleaning, and preparing materials for lessons and activities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with two-year-olds in a licensed childcare or preschool setting is strongly preferred.
• Must be comfortable and experienced with potty training and toddler developmental milestones.
• Must be a hands-on, dependable, patient, and energetic team player.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to follow the Lead Teacher's direction.
• Ability to communicate professionally with coworkers, children, and families.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Must be able to pass all required background checks and meet Texas childcare licensing requirements.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
