Assistant Teacher

The Oakling School is looking for a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our growing team!

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children and wants to help create a warm, nurturing, and engaging classroom where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with the Lead Teacher to support children's daily learning, development, and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher with age-appropriate activities, lessons, and classroom routines.
• Provide a safe, clean, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment.
• Support children's social-emotional development and positive behavior.
• Provide individual attention and guidance to children when needed.
• Help observe and document children's development and progress.
• Assist with classroom preparation, organization, meals, transitions, and daily routines.
• Communicate professionally and positively with families and team members.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to provide consistent, high-quality care.
• Participate in required training and ongoing professional development.
• Follow all school policies, health and safety procedures, and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in early childhood education is preferred but not required.
• A genuine love for working with young children.
• Patient, caring, dependable, and responsible.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to work effectively in a busy classroom environment.
• Willingness to learn and grow professionally.
• Ability to support children with different personalities, developmental levels, and learning styles.
• Must meet applicable state licensing requirements for the position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
