About the Role

Kindergarten Round-Up Childcare LLC is looking for a caring, dependable, and energetic Assistant Teacher to join our team in Detroit, MI.

Our Assistant Teachers work alongside Lead Teachers to create a safe, nurturing, structured, and engaging environment for children. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children, works well as part of a team, and is ready to be actively involved in the classroom.

Responsibilities

Support the Lead Teacher with daily classroom routines, lesson plans, and age-appropriate activities.

Actively supervise and engage with children throughout the day.
Participate in reading, arts and crafts, learning activities, outdoor play, and play-based learning.
Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
Assist children with meals, toileting, handwashing, transitions, and other daily routines as needed.
Use positive guidance and age-appropriate behavior management techniques.
Help maintain a clean, organized, sanitized, and welcoming classroom.
Communicate professionally with parents, coworkers, and management.
Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and childcare licensing requirements.
Assist wherever needed to help the classroom operate safely and smoothly.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.

Previous experience working with children is preferred.
Patient, caring, dependable, and professional.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow directions and work cooperatively with the Lead Teacher and other staff.
Ability to pass required background checks and meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements.
CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.
Willingness to complete all required childcare trainings.
