We are looking for a highly motivated Assistant Teacher.
Our preschool is a well-respected, early childhood school in Cambria Heights Queens. We provide a quality childcare program through interactive learning, hands on activities and educational-based field trips.
We are looking for an enthusiastic team player who can join our team five days a week as an Assistant Teacher. This position will begin in November 2026, but the ideal candidate may be offered the option of starting earlier.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Assist the lead teacher with implementing a program of activities that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child.
• Work closely with teacher to develop and enriching academic environment in the classroom.
• Develop a positive relationship with each child and promote their educational development including self-esteem and self-discipline.
• Observe each child daily to assess skills, interests, and needs and use this information to facilitate learning and growth.
• Establish a positive relationship with each child’s family and share information about the child’s day at school.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
• Must have a teamwork mentality with the ability to work well individually and as a team.
• Must have effective and strong communication skills.

Additional requirements:

• Be at least eighteen years old
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• DOI Fingerprints, SCR Clearance, updated medical
• 3 letters of recommendation are required, and other professional documents are encouraged (diplomas, CPR, etc.).
• PreK classroom experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of how children grow and develop is a plus.
• Be a team player who will keep the entire school in mind, and not solely any one classroom.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
