Assistant Teacher

Responsibilities:

• Assist the lead teacher in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities for daycare and preschool children
• Provide care and supervision for toddlers and preschoolers, ensuring their safety and well-being
• Support children with autism and other special needs by following individualized plans and implementing behavior management strategies
• Collaborate with the lead teacher in creating and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Assist with daily routines, including meal times and rest times
• Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through engaging activities and play

Skills:

• Experience working with toddlers and preschool-aged children in a daycare or educational setting
• Knowledge of child development principles and practices
• Ability to implement curriculum plans and adapt activities to meet the needs of individual children
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to manage challenging behaviors in a positive manner
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Note: Additional qualifications such as CPR/First Aid certification or completion of early childhood education courses may be preferred or required.
