We are looking for a qualified Assistant Teacher to join our fun, positive environment and carry out the Espin philosophy to each child. As a Teacher Assistant, you will collaborate with the lead teacher to provide a safe and nurturing environment. You will also partner with the lead teacher to encourage the advancement of children’s social, emotional, physical, and academic development.

Job Requirements:

• Work alongside and report to Lead Teacher
• Ensure the safety of children at all times in class, playground, bathroom, field trips, etc.
• Assist in classroom management to keep children productive and on task. Also, keep the cleanliness and organization of the classroom and following all policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with the Lead Teacher in implementing lesson plans by organizing and preparing projects and activities.
• Assist in instructing and supervising children during activities to ensure their safety at all times.
• Facilitate daily routines to make sure the schedule runs smoothly and according to plan.
• Assist children during work time, projects, and play, and give feedback and encouragement.
• Help prepare and engage with children during lunch and snacks, monitor clean up, set children up for rest time.
• Help children establish good habits of personal hygiene, change diapers and assist in toilet training. Aid children with self-help skills such as dressing, buttoning, zippering, and tying shoes.
• Communicate with parents about observed and/or reported incidents.
• Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have at least 1 year of experience working in a child care setting.
• Must have a warm and friendly personality and love working with children.
• Able to relate well and be respectful towards children, parents, coworkers, and administrators. Cooperate and communicate well with others, including giving feedback and receiving feedback on the quality of services.
• Be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with state requirements and trainings.
• Be able to lift or assist in lifting a preschool child.
• Bilingual preffered but not required

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Pay: $16.50 - $17.00 per hour
